The Entrepreneurship Development and Innovation Institution (EDII), Government of Tamilnadu along with ED Cell of Anna University Regional Campus Coimbatore is organizing the “TNSI Ideation Program” for the Fourth consecutive year in the Coimbatore Region. TNSI-2019 is a flagship programme which will identify student innovators and reward them to build a Minimum Viable Product to convert their ideas into a Start-Up. Tamil Nadu Student Innovators 2019 plans to conduct & challenge young minds in the form of Awareness programmes, Ideation Camp, Boot camp and Final Pitch to develop the spirit of entrepreneurship.

Participated team:

Team “Shellastic” from department of IBT

Problem undertaken:

  1. A solution for disposing off hazardous waste (egg shells).
  2. A bioplastic (named 'Shellastic') production proposal.

The team passed two of the three hurdles involved in the competition namely,

  1. Ideation program (PPT submission)
  2. Boot camp (3 days training program conducted at Anna University Regional campus, Coimbatore)

Views of team leader !!!

We were shortlisted based on our PPT submitted, in the ratio of 1:20 for the ideation program , after which based on further scrutiny we were selected for the pre final round i.e., Boot camp where we were allowed to interact with specialists from the field of 'Entrepreneurship' and were also allowed to present our Idea. We were not selected for the final round, but our journey throughout TNSI 2019, turned out to be fruit of comprehensive knowledge and great experience!
